Specialisation: pastels, oils, coloured pencils and acrylics - flowers

I painted from childhood until I married and due to family commitments, art was put to one side. In 1991 with my family grown-up I found with more free time, I was able to start painting once again. I commenced painting landscapes and still life. I then moved onto flower painting which, combined with my love of gardening, developed into an interest in botanical illustration, loving the colour and form of plants. Working mainly in watercolour, I also paint in pastels, oils, coloured pencils and recently acrylics. Cards have been reproduced from some of my flower portraits.I like to paint from nature.

Since taking early retirement, I have been able to pursue and develop my painting activities further. I have used a sewing machine to produce pictures using paints and threads on fabric. I enjoy using textiles and produce quilts, wall-hangings.

I regularly exhibit and sell work in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, and Norfolk. Apart from the Guild of Fine Artists, I am also a member of the Welland Valley Art Society, Stamford, and exhibit regularly in their twice yearly exhibitions, The Society of all Artists, and I regularly participate in Peterborough Open Studios.
